  Though this park is right on a busy road, it still has a feeling of safety and community thanks to its elevation and generous layout. A 1/2 mile gravel trail encircles the park, and it usually spotted with several dog walkers or couples out for a stroll. There is a great playground in the middle, with huge tractor tires for climbing. Covered picnic areas host a lot of reunions and cookouts. The northeast corner of the park has a small pond - mostly just for looks and getting your dog muddy. No fishing or swimming. We love this park - a great escape from a fairly dense residential area.

  Grindstone Nature Area is a secluded location, not guarded or looking like Stephen's park...so people there feel like they can do whatever they want, and it's getting worth year by year...Weddings and other events out there get wild...They block the trails with long seats, sitting , posing for photographers, warning:" Do not bother us!" We have seen some participants urinating and throwing up behind the bushes...Dog's owners feel free to let the dogs run unleashed and jump on walkers, barking, attacking and spitting their saliva all over them, pooping everywhere on the established trails.They do not use the special unleashed area for the dogs, they use the pathway for walking and jogging folks. The dog owners do not follow the city ordinance on all walks and hikes because nobody cares, there is no city authority enforcement...The area became nasty, disturbing, unsafe...we are afraid to go there.
